Organizational Development

Organizational Development

Regardless of the approach, OD has grown to become one of the most critical practices an organization needs to maintain performance within a rapidly changing environment.

Organizational Development (OD) is where interventions are developed with a 'systematic mindset' - therefore the need for systemic coaches! They create alignment with the organizations' goals and activities in a planned and intentional way, to bring about a particular result that will improve the overall performance of the organization.

We define OD as a planned and systematic approach to enabling sustainable organizational performance through the involvement of its people.

It's about people and organizational processes!

OD focuses on maximizing the value gained from the organization's resources, e.g. workflow efficiencies and people capabilities.

OD focuses on an organization's strategy, goals, and purpose – all development is carried out to achieve these things to a greater extent.

Where an organization's main competitive advantage is delivered through its people, OD will involve applying behavioral science knowledge and practice, such as leadership, group dynamics, work design, process improvement and optimization, individual psychology positive psychology, and systemic coaching.

OD is related to change management (see transformation and transition). Many developments are implemented using change management practices; OD is a planned, ongoing, systematic change that aims to institutionalize continual improvement within organizations.
